Dr Gary Heitzler has spent over 25 years serving the dental health needs of children and young adults in Westchester County. With a dental degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and a two year residency specializing in Pediatric Dentistry at The Brookdale Medical Center in Brooklyn, Dr. Gary has received extensive training with the unique emotional and physical development of children, as well as children with special needs.
Dr. Gary is also the Director of the Children’s Dental Department at St. Josephs Medical Center located in Yonkers, NY. As director of the department, Dr. Gary and his staff of dentists provide quality care to underserved children in the community. Dr. Gary is also a an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and is an Clinical Professor of Dental Medicine at Touro College of Dental Medicine in Valhalla, New York on the New York Medical College campus.
Dr. Dena was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She witnessed all four seasons for the first time when she went to college at Washington University in St. Louis where she majored in psychology and minored in Hebrew.
She then returned to Florida to earn her DMD from the University of Florida College of Dentistry. While in dental school, Dr. Dena was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society and participated in various volunteer opportunities, including a dental mission trip to the Dominican Republic and the Special Olympics.
Dr. Dena then migrated north to complete her two-year pediatric dental residency program at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, where she trained in one of the most culturally diverse areas in the country.
Dr. Dena is a board-certified pediatric dentist. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the New York State Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. She was awarded the 2015 James R. Roche Award of Excellence for attaining the highest score on the Qualifying Examination for the year.
Dr. Dena has been working with children her entire life, from babysitting to tutoring to being a camp counselor, and she is so happy she gets to work one-on-one with children everyday in a fun, caring and nurturing environment.
Dr. Dena enjoys cooking, reading, painting, running and exploring New York City.
Dr. Marcelle grew up in Brooklyn, NY. She attended CUNY Hunter College where she earned her Bachelors of Arts in Biology and graduated as the Valedictorian of her class. She then received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania.
Following dental school, she completed a general practice residency at Helen Hayes Hospital, where she primarily treated individuals with special health care needs. She obtained her certificate of specialty in pediatric dentistry at Columbia-New York Presbyterian Hospital.
Dr. Marcelle is a board certified pediatric dentist.
Dr. Marcelle believes that dentistry should be a fun experience for children. Her goal is to provide the best possible care in a happy and friendly environment. She enjoys getting to know her young patients and their families and delivering the individualized care they deserve. Prevention and education are her focus and she is excited to help build excellent oral care habits starting at an early age.
In her free time, Dr. Marcelle enjoys travelling, running, dancing and spending time with her family and friends.
A native New Yorker, Dr. Shaun Darrah loves being a pediatric dentist because it allows him to provide quality dental care to the children of the community.
Dr. Shaun earned his dental degree at the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and completed his residency in Pediatric Dentistry at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. Prior to his dental school, he obtained a B.S. in Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University as well as an M.S. in Nutrition at Columbia University. Dr.Shaun applies his interest and background in Nutrition to the management of dental caries.
Dr. Shaun is motivated to provide each family and every child with a positive, compassionate and fun dental experience. He believes in the potential of all children and is committed to playing a supportive role in their growth by providing them with the knowledge and care for life-long healthy smiles.
Dr. Amrita grew up in Westchester County. She received her BS in Biology at Haverford College, her MPH from Rutgers University and DDS from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. Upon her dental school graduation, she was awarded the James Collord Memorial Award for her achievements in pediatric dentistry and the New York State Founders Student Recognition Award for her role in community service. After dental school, she completed her residency training in pediatric dentistry at Brookdale Hospital and Medical Center.
Dr. Amrita is a board certified pediatric dentist. She loves working with children and their families with the goal to make each visit enjoyable and educational. She values including both kids and parents in the plan of care. As someone who was afraid of the dentist when she was young, she is sensitive to the fears that may be associated with going to the dentist and hopes to help alleviate these with each visit.
Dr. Amrita remains an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD).
Dr. Amrita lives with her husband in New York. When she isn’t working, she enjoys cooking, making jewelry and spending time with her family.
Dr. Natalie grew up in Vancouver, Canada. She attended the University of British Columbia where she completed her undergraduate and dental school training, earning a Bachelor's of Science as well as a DMD.
She then moved to New York, where she did three years of hospital residency. She completed her General Practice Residency at Lincoln Hospital and her Pediatric Dental residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital.
Dr. Natalie is board certified as a pediatric dentist in Canada and the United States. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and she is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
Dr. Natalie's passion for treating children started during dental school where she participated in a number of mission trips in rural British Columbia as well as the mountains of Cusco, Peru providing dental services to families in these under served communities. She enjoys the field of dentistry and loves spending her days working with children. She is committed to providing quality dental care to children while ensuring that they have a positive experience and look forward to their dental visits.
A child at heart herself, Dr. Natalie loves the Disney classics - Aristocats, The Jungle Book, and The Little Mermaid are among her favorites. During her free time, she enjoys cooking, listening to music, swimming, travelling, and exploring New York City.
